On November 3-4, 2015, the Regional Dialogue Workshop for the project "Strengthening the TB Laboratory Network in the Americas Region" convened with the presence of twenty countries. This event was organized by #ORASCONHU in collaboration with the World Health Organization/Pan-American Health Organization and the Global Fund for the Fight Against AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
Participants included heads of Argentina, Chile, and Mexico's Supranational Laboratories; heads of Belize, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, the Dominician Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela's National TB Laboratories; and the directions of the National TB Programs of Chile, Mexico, Perú, and the Dominican Republic.
The event also included representatives from Colombia and Peru's civil societies (Karen Rivas and Judy Regalado, respectively), the representative of COMISCA-El Salvador, the representative of MCR Centroamérica-El Salvador, laboratory experts from Argentina and the Dominican Republic, and officials from Organismo Andino de Salud-Convenio Hipólito Unanue (Andean Health Organization), the Pan-American Health Organization, and the Global Fund.
