30 de Noviembre

November 30, 2015- ASPAT received a visit from the Loreto Regional Activist Cecilio Sangama, an activist with more than 6 years of experience in the fight against stigma and discrimination resulting from TB.

Judy Regalado, the Monitoring Coordinator for Intervention Projects conferred ASPAT-Perú's recognition upon Mr. Sangama, adding that his voluntary social work in the provinces was very important and that ASPAT would participate with its activities and clear objectives to help its partners.

Loreto is considered a high-risk region for TB transmission, ranking 5th in the nation. In spite of a decrease in transmission since 2013, in 2014 1,143 cases of TB were diagnosed, of which 1,003 were new.
